Description of Service Type:
In Home respite is a service which provides Carer and client with a planned, regular break in the comfort of the family home.  It is available to Carers of frail aged older people and younger people with a disability. Client’s who live in the Hornsby and Ku-ring-gai, Ryde and Hunters Hill areas are eligible for this service.

Coordinators ensure that client care planning needs are developed using person-centred approaches within the enabling philosophy of care.  It is important that we offer a service that provides meaningful, creative and appropriate activities to ensure that our clients are achieving a responsive service.

The program provides a much needed respite to carers from their caring role with the knowledge that the care recipients’ needs are being met in the comfort and safety of their own home in surroundings that they are familiar with. Experienced staff is also available to assist clients and carers with direct support. Coordinators can provide information enabling access to other services provided by Catholic Community Services which may also be an opportunity for recipients.
