The causes of homelessness are many and complex including family violence, mental illness, disability or disadvantage. These factors alongside with the shortage of affordable accommodation means the demand for support with housing issues is growing.

Catholic Community Services provides a variety of Housing Support Services that aim to meet the needs of individuals who are experiencing housing associated concerns; are currently, or are at risk of experiencing homelessness due to a variety of risk factors.

We recognise the importance of having a secure, safe and comfortable home and work alongside individuals in a supportive and empowering way to ensure that those who are having difficulty accessing both accommodation and support are provided with the appropriate level of assistance. In this, our services form a continuum of support that provides a pathway out of the experience of homelessness.

Access to sustainable, safe and secure accommodation is a fundamental human right and to this end, we provide the following support to break the cycle of homelessness and achieve sustainable tenancy:

• Living Conditions Program (LCP)
• Severe Domestic Squalor  (SDS)
