Philosophy of Care

We support independence, empowerment and the achievement of aspirations for clients, carers, families and communities through a comprehensive network of programs and services.

We promote a strengths based enabling culture that recognises the need for dignity, respect, growth and independence in a person's life.

We believe that everyone has the potential to improve their capacity and make gains in their wellbeing. Our services aim to contribute to improved outcomes for individuals, families and communities.

In doing this:

  • We provide services that enable people to enjoy meaningful participation in society as valued community members;
  • We provide multi dimensional assessments and ongoing monitoring to ensure services continue to meet the needs of the client and carer;
  • Service plans are developed in consultation with the client and significant others and are driven by the client's personal goals;
  • Our staff promote independence and quality of life by engaging individuals in their own care through both the recognition of their strengths and support with areas of needs;
  • We facilitate opportunities to optimise physical, social, psychological and spiritual health and wellbeing through our networks in the community with health services, other service providers and community organisations;
  • We value the role of families and carers and provide support to enable them to maintain and optimise their own health and wellbeing;
  • Our services are responsive and flexible acknowledging the individual and changing needs of the person and their circumstances;
  • We provide ongoing training and support of our staff in skills development and healthy lifestyles;
  • We seek opportunities to develop innovative programs that improve health and wellbeing outcomes for people of all ages, in particular programs that meet the needs of the most marginalised and disadvantaged members of our community.
